The book “Encyclopedia of American Cars” calls this car the last year for the 1950-52 “low-suds” model in Chevy horsepower.

This car is in original un-restored condition. The two back lower fender panels show some rust repair and have had thinner metal “filler” panels put in place. There are original fender skirts and they stay in place. There is a grey after-market sun-visor. The green color is faded but not chipped. The interior is original with seat covers in front. The headliner is also original and complete with the center mounted interior light and lens. It has the original working push-button radio and dash mounted spring wound clock. All the gauges work including the speedo. Uncertain about the dash lights. The tires are not original though they are white walls with decent tread remaining. Correct spare is in the trunk with the original hubcaps. All the head light, tail light and parking lenses are correct. An after-market turn signal is on the column. The engine ran fine over a year ago with no rattles or knocking though the battery is presently dead. Some coolant leakage may be present and the engine needs resealing. It’s drivable though there are some additional fuel leaks from the carburetor and fuel pump. It starts fairly easily with the battery charged. The battery did hold a charge well. The generator operates as indicated by the dash gauge. Its three speed transmission has a bad first gear, the other two are fine. There is some “play” in the steering. The differential seems quiet and doesn’t appear to leak. The clutch & brakes appear ok. I drove it to Greeley from Denver and had no trouble. It has the original cigarette lighter, ash tray, arm rests, handles, sun visors, control knobs, wipers, rubber pedals and shifter knob. The ignition key is broken off in the switch and needs replacement. The starter button is fine. The steering wheel is correct with the correct center knob and horn ring. The horns work and brakes seem good. All the doors are sound, open and close correctly and are locked with pushers. All exterior handles are present and all exterior insignia are correct and present.  All glass is present and unbroken. There is an outside rear-view mirror on the driver side.

This grand old Chevy hasn’t been in a crash and rides better than most if not all modern middle sized economy cars. Being hit by it in an accident would crush a modern car and dent it. Chevy lovers will find this is a great car to restore. Asking $4,000.00. Some bargaining is OK. Pictures will be forthcoming. It’s been in my garage, not outside and was kept in the garage by the former owner. The title is clear and accessible.
